Our FSQ Manager assures that the food safety and quality standards of all food products and manufacturing processes are met always and that the standards set by all, (the company, the customers, and regulatory authorities) are adhered to. The FSQ Manager in his/her role ensures the company adheres to all food safety and hygiene regulations, especially assisting with checks and balances in production for all departments and sectors. He/She implements and controls processes, methods, and tests. Proper documentation is mandatory. He/She is coordinating all FSQ activities to ensure the production environment is controlled and up to date with all industry standards, and that our valid customers may enjoy an unforgettable and safe dining experience.
We work in a fast-paced environment that requires elevated levels of flexibility from the FSQ Manager. Early start hours may be required as well as late hours to cover all aspects of the operations. We’re a fast-growing company that needs highly motivated and team-oriented talent.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Leading the companies HACCP plan and food defense program
- Keeping all company certifications up to date
- Develop and provide training for food safety and quality requirements
- Develop and maintain documentation such as SOP’s, as well as maintenance of manuals, policies and procedures as relate to any food safety concerns
- Conduct facility food safety audits as well as manage third party audits
- Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all products coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards in addition to quality standards
- Update existing food safety procedures and documentation to keep up with changing requirements
- Assist buyers with training and educating potential suppliers to ensure compliance
- Work closely with Managers, Supervisors in operations on any food safety or quality assurance issues
- Oversee proper maintenance and sanitation of all facility to comply with food safety requirements
- Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed and documented correctly always
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of food safety, with management level experience in HACCP, USDA, FDA
- Substantial quality & food safety experience in a manufacturing environment
- Higher education degree in food science, microbiology, or related field
- Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, and Food Defense Plans
- Previous experience with SQF, GFSI, BRC and/or USDA audits
- Must be able to travel as required to various suppliers
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Able to work unsupervised and manage independently
- Have strong communication skills and proficiency in English reading and writing
- Must be flexible with work hours and days
